Blessed art Thou Father,
Who trains my fingers for battle,
And my hands for war!
Bless this day unto Thy service,
And may I through Christ,
Go forth this day, victorious!
The victory shall not be mine,
For naught have I to give!
But strength all thine,
My Holy God,
Shall guide me through today!
Blessed art Thou Father,
Who trains my hands for war!
Strengthen me my God,
That I sin no more!
Thou hast given me armor,
Thy Word is my sword,
And Thou art my Shield,
Whose name is the LORD!
Strengthen my hands!
Make strong my fingers!
Give me peace through battle’s din,
Through Thy guiding Spirit from within!
Give me strength
And indeed desire,
To go out and war,
With flesh and fire!
Bless this day unto Thy service,
That with courage I may go,
To battle with the evil way,
Out to battle with the foe!
May I through Christ,
Go forth today,
With hands to fight,
And eyes to see!
While shouting the cry of “Victory!”
The victory of my King.
Beneath His banner I will stand,
With head uplifted,
And sword in hand.
