I meant to post this poem which I wrote the other morning, but didn't get to it until now! I wrote it about....well, you'll see!
A True Yarn Made of Web
I opened my closet,
And what should I see?
A fuzzy black spider
Looking at me!
Sittin' on my shirts
As confident as you please
I lets out a gasp and says "Oh!"
I stands there a minute
How I always do,
When me and a spider
Come nose to nose
Then I thinks a minute
About what to do,
"There's a shoe, I'm gonna kill you!"
"But not in this vertical position" I says
"No, you'll fall on the floor and go to some dark spot."
So I grab the corner of the hangers,
And steady and quick,
I lay the shirts out on the floor for a bit.
Hopin' he wouldn't jump off 'tween here there and yonder.
Then when we've landed, he ran under a sleeve,
I could just see some tell-tale legs peekin' at me, and showin' me where to aim.
Then I ran for the flip flop, came back quick and went squish,
Makin' sure I hear a pop, before I let up and stop.
So then I returns the shoe,
(Whether or not a flip flop is a shoe to you)
And then I gets part of a tishy and wipes up my enemy.
Now he's safe and dead in the trash can,
And all that accounts for the silent battle
Is two little black spots, one on pink and one on white,
Safely tucked in position, in my dark closet, dark as night.
I hope you've enjoyed this eight-legged epoch,
And had no faints or heart attacks.
Oh and I nearly forgot my victor's words,
I guess 'cause theys so commonly said by me:
"I hate spiders!"
