As some of you may know, I started to read the Hunger Games Trilogy, but I decided that I didn't really like it and that didn't want to finnish reading it. Oh sure the story really draws you in, it is well written, but I found the phillosophies behind it too distastful. Someone sent me this article (linked to below) and I wanted to share it with ya'll. I think that it does a very good job of explaining what I mean when I say: "I don't like it becuase of the phillosophies behind it." http://chalcedon.edu/research/articles/a-review-of-hunger-games-by-s/

An update:
I have not been up to much, last week Mom got a cold and so I tried to stay on top of meals and school. And guess what?! This week she is better but I have the cold!! Not very jolly, have I ever mentioned that I hate being sick? But thankfully I am not too bad, I have been a lot worse before. I am feeling somwhat better today, and trying to "speed heal" becuase Mom and I intend on going to a three day out of state Reformation Day conference. And I really want to go to it. Especcially since I/we were not able to got to the church's "Scottish Ball" (I have no idea why it is called that, I don't see that there is anything Scottish about it...) since Maman was sick and Daddy has to be home almost constatly to be all call for when Grandpa needs help (transfering from chair to chair, getting to bed and so forth.) Soooo, that's what has been going on. How have ya'll been? |
