Hi Ya'll!!
I bet you thought that I had dropped off of the face of the earth as quiet as it has been around here! Dry as bones!! No, not so, I have just been busy...busy doing what, I may not be sure, but busy none the less! This past Tuesday Mom and I went to Mr. John's house to pick up a few roosters that he was giving us. We work the farmers market with him and his wife; they sell eggs…Mmmm good eggs too! The three roosters that he gave us (well actually, Mom did pay him for them, he didn't ask for it, but she wanted to) are meant for the freezer, but they have not been butchered yet, 'cause we wanted them to get a little bigger first. So that is on the agenda to do sometime soon. The weather is really chilling down now...Mom and I were about freezing at the farmers market this morning, and I had on 5 layers!! The wind is honking too like...like...well, like fall in this part of the country :) We just turned the heat on today! Recently I have read a two book series that Mr. John loaned me, by Frank Peretti. The series is the Veritas Project. The first book is called Hangman's Curse, and the second is called Nightmare Academy. They may have rather creepy sounding names, but they are not horror books...believe me, if they were I would not have read them! They are rather, mystery-adventure books. The main characters are Elijah and Elisha (el-ee-sha) Springfield, 16 year old twins, and their parents. They are a family from Montana, and they form a sort of "private investigative" team that work at the disposal of the president, via their middle-man/"handler" Mr. Morgan. The Springfield’s are Christian, and the kids are homeschooled. At any rate: in the first book, the twins go under cover at a school, where, witchcraft is suspected in the deaths and mental debilitation of a hand full of students at Baker High School. It turns out however to be the use of a biological weapon. In the second book, Elijah and Elisha again go undercover to discover why a runaway boy, who was found, has apparently gone nearly insane, and what the "Nightmare Academy" which terrifies him so much when he mentions it in his incoherent ramblings is. Well, they find it, and both nearly lose their lives. They see firsthand that a world "without" truth, a place where "truth" is "truly" relative, cannot succeed as such, for someone's truth will always become the rule. And so, they uncover a plot in which evil men by attempting to remove all truth, and anything real, brainwash and re-program humans seeking a method for gaining international power. Elijah also proves that belief in the God of the Bible, and in real truth, is not something that can be washed away from a man's mind and soul. I hope that that "review" was not too much of a spoiler if you ever decide to read the books...I really tried to be vague, yet uncover just enough to explain what happened. I enjoyed the second book better...Mr. John said that he did too. But the first book was good also, and one really needs to read it to get a good introduction to the Springfield family. Anyway, just a blurb...so if there is anyone who even still bothers to come and look at my blog...if anyone has not lost patience with me...I hope that you have enjoyed it, and I truly hope, that I will be writing again soon. Amariah Tuesday, July 31st 2012 Amariah’s earthly life, Had only just begun, Two whole years, And eight short months, Till her time on earth was done. But now she’s gone to heaven above, Alive in Christ the Son. Only yesterday she breathed, Her last and final breath, Her sweet young life only dawning, Now ‘tis gone from sight. Though is seems like darkest night, To sad and grieving hearts, Through tearful eyes, and aching minds, Reality imparts the truth. Even a rosebud, when cut to soon, Transported far from its native bower, When put in water, the water of life, Still fully opens… Blooming all despite. So the life of Amariah, Though on earth her time is done, For Amariah, life has really just begun! Now she blooms in fairer halls, Yea, even in the bosom of the LORD, The Father of all! So though on earth, Her life was only at its dawn, And now though gone, Night has not fallen, Though in grief it seem that way. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Job 1:21 Dear Amariah went to be with the LORD around 10:30 est. (8:43pm cst.). Please continue to pray for Nick, Kristi, and their church family at this time. Nick wrote: "She was only 2 years 8 months old, but I could only pray to have the faith of my little girl. She fought the fight against sin in her life and loved the Lord very much. It was an honor to be with her at the end, and to be able to sing Psalm 45:8-17 with her as she passed away. I am proud to say that although I couldn't walk her down the isle in an earthly wedding, I was able to sing to her as she met with the great heavenly bridegroom, the savior of her soul, and perfecter of her faith. No more tears, no more sorrow, no more struggle with her sin. She is with Jesus now...." May we all have such child like faith! Yesterday, her daddy was backing up, and not realizing she was behind him, knocked her over, then, tripped and fell on top of her. The latest update was: “…she has a severe brain injury, and a fractured skull. They need to do a procedure to place a pressure measuring device in her skull so they can know how to treat her with medicine to keep the pressure down, and that is all at this point--they believe it best at present to give her two weeks for the brain to begin recovery. The doctor used the words, "we need to let this storm pass" through medication, keeping her sedated, and letting the pressure and swelling reduce. She is in a coma from her injuries, which at this point is not a bad thing, seeing that it allows the brain to rest and heal. There is no word on the long term prognosis, but the injuries are severe, and while there is a possibility of a full recovery, the doctors expect a long term, rather than a short term recovery. We are in a wait and see mode at this point, and the next few days up to the next two weeks will be the most telling. Her parents are holding up--there are a number of folks here at the hospital with them, praying, comforting. They know they're not alone, but are surrounded with the care of the Lord's people, and the Lord Himself is providing for them in many ways.” Amariah’s daddy also suffered a broken arm in trying to stop his fall, and her mama is 6 months pregnant. Thank you for your prayers for this dear family. --- Katherine ---Let me tell you a little story...
Once upon a time there was a city called Here And Now...and there was a family from that city whose last name was Mericanaa. Due to the circumstances of the times and the pending destruction of the city in which they lived, the Mericanaa family was forced to move out of Here And Now, and travel to another city. Now the Mericanaa family was aware that there was a wide open road to a neighboring city up to the north-east, which was called Chaos. But the city of Chaos was a dark and evil place, a place of violence, crime, death; it had been aptly given its name, for it was full of, well...chaos! The Mericanaa family also knew of a small town off to the north-west which was named Question. Now the town of Question was also doomed to be destroyed, but shortly after the destruction of Here And Now, so one could rest safe at least for a while there. Beyond the town of Question, farther north and farther west, further up and further in, was yet another city, this city's name was Hope. The Mericanaa family's only trepidation at traveling to Question was that they were not sure whether or not there was a road that spanned from Question to Hope. But time was running short, the Mericanaa's only had about three and a half days to leave Here and Now, so lengthy indecisiveness was dangerous. The Mericanaa family was quite large...so as you can imagine, disagreement broke out as to what to do. Some of them were all for going straight to Chaos, while others pleaded to go on to the town of Question and find out if there really was a road that lead to Hope. Still others thought that they might just stay in Here And Now, let the rest go ahead, and then send back word, if there was a road to Hope so that they could go that way, or if there was not, they would take the big highway straight to Chaos. Finally the Father of the Maricanaa family let his fist firmly strike the table, the bickering crowd turned to him in surprise, but his action had taken it's desired effect, they were silent. "My dear family," Mr. Mericanaa began, "this whole argument is futile!" "Look here," he continued and pointed at the map spread out before him "look at this little road that runs from Question to the main highway that leads to Chaos. Has no one yet noticed this?" He added in an irritated tone. "The only sensible thing to do, is to go staight way to Question, we can at least rest there a few hours..." His voice trailed off as he quietly sighed and passed his sun browned and work calloused hand over his wrinkled face and white beard, then he continued. "If there is a road out of Question that leads to the lovely city of Hope, then we will of course take it. But if there is no road, and if it is hopeless wasteland, or a wide river far too wide to cross...Alas! Our maps are not very good!" he exclaimed. Mr. Mericanaa looked about him at his family, many, many, faces were there, young, old, infants, teenagers, gray haired and stooped figures, though none of them were as old as he was. Mr. Mericanaa, Samuel was his name, looked about him grieved, so many in his family didn't care, many of them were playing on their smart phones and he wondered if they had even heard him, he wondered if it was all worth it, or if they should just resignedly march up to the city of Chaos... But his back straightened as he remembered the long history of the Mericanaa family, and how God had always been with them, and carried them through the toughest times. Even though there were now some in the crowd around him who didn't care, or didn't really know the danger they were in, or those who knew the danger, but wouldn't budge because of various personal reasons, despite all these, he had made up his mind. Mr. Mericanaa was encouraged by those in his family whose faces strained towards him, eye's glimmered with courage, and still radiating a lingering hope. "Yes," Mr. Sam Mericanaa said, as if to reassure himself, "Yes, if there is a road there, we will take it, by all means. But if there is not, and we are doomed to move to that terrible city of Chaos, then we can easily take this short road across to the main highway." "Does anyone object?" he asked determinedly as he looked out from under his bushy white eyebrows. "If anyone does," he added without giving time for a response, "listen to this. Look, even if you don't gain Hope, even if we don't get what we all want, or most of us," Mr. Mericanaa added in a lowered voice as a black look crossed his face, "even if you don't get peace, away from all of this destruction, you will not have lost anything from where you started." "See?" he pointed at the map, and traced the routs with his finger, "Look at it this way, we either go straight to Chaos from here or we go up to Question, and then just cross over this way and still arrive at Chaos, and it really isn't that much out of the way!" "And by taking this second rout, maybe, just maybe, we can go on to Hope and avoid that filthy city of Chaos all together!" Mr. Sam added in a gentler tone, "I look forward to seeing many more generations of my grandchildren, and I don't want this family of mine to be torn apart in that wild city of Chaos." Sam smiled down at a young girl who stood beside him, her eye's intent on the map, he placed his hand on her head and she looked up at him, he said in a voice as if he were talking to himself, "Many here I love, and many in my family I hate, but they are all my kin, and I want the best for the future generations. I want them all to have the same freedom that I have had during so much of my life. Pray child, pray. May God Bless the whole Mericanaa family!" The end....but not really the end, that depends on God's blessed Providence and all of you, tools in His hand... "Mr. President [of the gathered assembly], it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth and listen to the song of the siren, till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes. see not, and having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth, to know the worst and to provide for it" --Patrick Henry

I know not what course others may take, but as for me: Give me liberty, or give me death!" --Patrick Henry Where is this back bone, this courage, this faith in God today? Where are the men? Are there none left? Who loves liberty? Who loves their freedom? Then open your eyes and open your ears! You may think of me as one who "indulges in illusions of hope", but no. No, I see that painful and ugly potential, but in our case today, unlike in the 1700's, it cannot yet be called a "truth", not, at least, until November is past. Therefore, do not insist upon obscure candidates when they are not offered as an option! You have an opportunity provided for you through Almighty God's ever wise providence to gain with His aid, your temporal salvation from potential tyranny! To hold fast to your freedoms without violence. This time was already past for our forefathers, but not yet so with us, be aware of the storm that may come our way, and be prepared for it, but pray God that it does not burst upon us, do not hasten on pending destruction by ignoring providential doors. You can trust God, please do, please trust Him with all of your heart! But do not turn away your eyes from the door which He has left open to you as of yet. Why do you look instead to the door which is still shut (pray God may it stay that way!), to the door that will only open (oh what terror and horror!) if the one now standing a-jar be shut, slammed, and with it peace shattered. It is true, verry true, that we must trust God. Of course! But do you not remember that God uses means? God's eternal providence governs everything, and within His providence, and by His providence, God uses means. Did not the Almighty by the means of a harlot protect His men, He, who could have used any other means whatsoever? Yes, he did. No, she was by no means a saintly woman. She was not whom YOU would have chosen to protect your sons is she? She was not who I would have chosen to protect my sons is she? But she was who God chose. God does not always, nor can I say most of the time, use perfect and "noble characters" to fulfill His plans. Think of Pharaoh! And no man is perfect, even if he is one of God's children. Do not even the children of God disagree among themselves, and like or dislike each other? God uses means, and many times those means are people, sometimes He uses His children and sometimes He uses heathens and pagans to fulfill His will. But He does use means, whether we approve of them or not. As children of God, we are free to, yea, called upon to act according to His will. And if we see a need that wants fulfilling and providentially a way is open to fulfill it, then it is our duty to drive ahead! And if we are mistaken, then by and by God will show us that. But it is better to try, and be told later that we are driving off to a dead end, then to go resignedly sit at a possible dead end, when we see an open door, and really should go try it, and see if we can be helpful to His cause, to the furtherance of His will, rather then just waiting for the worst to come, and only seeking orders then. Why not seek orders now, when, though God has not given any audible command, the common sense mind realizes that He has provided work to be done, and by the direction of His book, we His servants should be busy about it until we should be instructed differently. Who knows? Maybe if you busied yourself about a way which looks as though God may use it for the good of His children, even if along the way he uses the type of people you wouldn't choose, maybe in so doing you would be found more active in the furthering of God's will then simply sitting by with a rifle in your lap. Be prepared for the worst, yes! But do not start there! And what if God does use the means which you were not keen on and stayed as far away from as you could? What then? Who lent a hand in the furthering of God's will? Providentially some, but where were you? I do not claim that I am being prophetical, I do not claim that I am perfect or the wisest soul in the world, but I do claim the love of Christ, the mercy of God, a holy calling of dominion and a command to act upon my belief. I do claim providence as a divine instrument of God, and know that my every thought and action flow from that pen onto the page of history. What will it say when at last it is done and my breath is gone? Only God knows. It will have much sin and failing in it, that I know, but may it ever be a path lighted with God's blessed lamps of liberty and peace! Do not call me a coward and tell me that I do not trust my God enough; I only believe the illumination of Scripture which God has convicted upon my conscience. I know that whatever in the world happens, whether God will part the Red Sea's that arise in front of me, or whether I must plunge into an un-parted sea and drown, no matter which, it is His will, for His glory, and my good. I am at peace with that, my God is good. Praise the LORD, whether walking through a dry sea, or milling about in its painfully icy waters, praise the LORD! Amen. Okay...sorry that it's been a little quite around here, life you know...
I meant to post this poem which I wrote the other morning, but didn't get to it until now! I wrote it about....well, you'll see! A True Yarn Made of Web I opened my closet, And what should I see? A fuzzy black spider Looking at me! Sittin' on my shirts As confident as you please I lets out a gasp and says "Oh!" I stands there a minute How I always do, When me and a spider Come nose to nose Then I thinks a minute About what to do, "There's a shoe, I'm gonna kill you!" "But not in this vertical position" I says "No, you'll fall on the floor and go to some dark spot." So I grab the corner of the hangers, And steady and quick, I lay the shirts out on the floor for a bit. Hopin' he wouldn't jump off 'tween here there and yonder. Then when we've landed, he ran under a sleeve, I could just see some tell-tale legs peekin' at me, and showin' me where to aim. Then I ran for the flip flop, came back quick and went squish, Makin' sure I hear a pop, before I let up and stop. So then I returns the shoe, (Whether or not a flip flop is a shoe to you) And then I gets part of a tishy and wipes up my enemy. Now he's safe and dead in the trash can, And all that accounts for the silent battle Is two little black spots, one on pink and one on white, Safely tucked in position, in my dark closet, dark as night. I hope you've enjoyed this eight-legged epoch, And had no faints or heart attacks. Oh and I nearly forgot my victor's words, I guess 'cause theys so commonly said by me: "I hate spiders!" K.
