Racheal made the bed skirt, and I took on the task of making the coverlet and the throw pillow covers. As it turned out, there was not enough of the material to self-back the coverlet, so I had to find just the right piece of just the right color with which to back it...
My labors on this project spanned from late February to March 15th (including a couple of days mostly spent in fabric shopping for the coverlet backing).
There were several firsts for me throughout this project, and I definitely learned a few things.
And now I'll share some photos:
Some of the firsts for me were:
-First of all making a coverlet.
-Working with that many yards of material (I can't say I am really relishing the idea of working with that much yardage again in a hurry...)
-I know I have matched patterns before, but this was by far the most extensive matching I've done (and I am pleased with how well it turned out!)
-Doing any sort of "quilting".
-Putting on this kind of bias/blanket binding.
-Making pillow covers.
-Making pipping.
I hope you have enjoyed my little tale...
Have a Happy Day!
